About Dj Vetkuk vs Mahoota

Many souls became Dj Vetkuk vs Mahoota fans when they began releasing slamming house jams a while back. The journey that erupted in early 2000 with the album ‘Malombo’, now eight years later Dj Vetkuk vs Mahoota have become a big part of South African dance culture.

Now with only fourth offerings out, they have become one the most booked dee jays today and to think they only started touring with the release of the second album. They were a bit skeptical about the transition from producer cum performer into the dee jay route. The South African masses must surely be glad that they took the leap into dee jaying.

The duo has always maintained a fresh yet cutting edge sound to their music. Having shard the decks with the likes of legendary dee jays like Franck Roger, Quinton Harris, Dj Fresh, Vinny da Vinci, Glen Lewis, Dj Christos as well as new kids on the block like, Black Coffee, Dj U4nik and a range of other club baggers. It is no wonder that they have delivered time and time again, setting stages alight where ever they drop a set!

Their ground breaking fusion of local and international house has made dj vetkuk vs mahoota a dance music legend and with their fourth offering their formula has not changed.

After three successful projects dj vetkuk vs mahoota have gone back into the studio and produced a project which mainly consists of self produced songs, proving once again their diversity and growth. Featuring hit the tracks: Qolo, Sabangena and Chris Lake’s Changes.

On this project they have enlisted the aid of the musical industry giants and legends like; Thebe, Mawillis, Dj Killer, Theo of Mafikizolo, Stone from Bongo Maffin, the new soul sensation Zonke, Tizozo, Gunman and Bobo from Yizo Yizo. Production done by DCC at Kalawa: Bruce Dope Sibitlo, Mandla Spikiri Mofokeng, Oscar Oskido Mdlongwa, Zynne Mahoota Sibika.
This album has been said to be a coming of age for the duo, if u are fan you truly are going to enjoy this one.

Isn’t Vetkoek vs Mahoota two people, the trompies guy (Sibika) and his brother. When there toured the UK there were two of them.
