Afropop group,Malaika’s, Ndaba dies

Popular afro-pop/kwaito/rock group Malaika are mourning the loss of one of their trio. Jabulani Herald Ndaba was allegedly ill for some time suffering from leukaemia. Band manager Stacey Gule says:

“He died at 12.13pm today (14.07.08) at a hospital in Klerksdorp from tuberculosis. It is very sad.”

The talented 32-year-old had repeatedly denied reports that he was HIV-positive.

Ndaba, started Malaika with Bongani Nchang and Tshidi Moholo in 2003. The trio went on to release three popular albums, selling over 500 000 copies. Some of the hit include Destiny and Nguwe.
The afropop group has won multiple SAMA and Kora Awards

Funeral details have not been released yet.
