Kwaito star in Botswana court over fatal crash

By guestwritter , 26 Feb 2008

The accident case in Botswana involving member of the now defunct kwaito group Tkzee, Tokollo Tshabalala, is scheduled to be heard in the Gaborone Court today.

Two people were killed in the crash six years ago. Maria Monyatsi and Desmond Monyatsi died on impact. Tshabalala made his first appearance before the court in October last year and pleaded not guilty.

However the case was postponed to allow the defence counsel and the accused’s lawyers time to set a date for the trial. It is alleged that Tshabalala, his producer Godfrey “Guffy” Pilane, and two other occupants were fleeing a police patrol when their vehicle collided head-on with another car.
