Kwaito’s Brickz gives his lady a beating
By Ngwako Malatji , 30 Sep 2008 | One CommentKwaito star Brickz has been exercising his biceps by moering his girlfriend Tamara Betuwana.
This because he suspected her of bonking her neighbour.
But the self-confessed coke fiend escaped jail by a whisker after Betuwana dropped the charges.
According to info received, Brickz visited Betuwana at her townhouse in Midrand, Jozi a few days before the South African Music Awards (Samas) in Sun City in May this year.
“When I was arresting him, he begged me not to hurt his face…”

It is alleged that as they were chatting, a woman known only as Mbali stepped out of Brickz’s Mini-Cooper, waltzed into Betuwana’s house and asked to use her loo.
“Apparently Betuwana was receiving calls and SMSes from a man who lived in the same complex when Brickz was talking to her,” says our source.
Taxed beyond endurance with the flurry of SMSes and other problems they’ve had in the past, Brickz unleashed a barrage of warm klaps and punches that caused Betuwana to hit her head against a brick wall.
It is alleged Brickz told Betuwana he didn’t regret blikseming her and encouraged her to report him to the police.
When she did, Brickz begged her to drop the common assault charges. When she refused he opened a counter-charge of common assault.
Midrand police spokesman Inspector Mmakgomo Semono confirms arresting Brickz.
“He even promised to feature me on his forthcoming album”

“When I was arresting him, he begged me not to hurt his face as he was going to the Samas in a few days.
“He said ‘please don’t hurt me on my face (sic) because I’m going to the Samas and people will see I have been arrested’.
“I told him we don’t beat suspects – we aren’t the apartheid security forces,” says Semono.
After being released on a warning, Brickz got excited.
“He even promised to feature me on his forthcoming album,” jokes Semono.
The controversial singer’s past crummy episodes include impregnating his ex, Lindi Nkosi, while he was living with Muvhango actress Elle Tisane.
He also spent time in the police cells for possession of drugs.
TS Records boss Thembinkosi “TK” Nciza says: “Brickz is in the studio working on his new album. He doesn’t want to be disturbed by this thing.”
Betuwana avoided Sunday World’s calls after learning that we wanted her comment about the incident.
