iRequest
with a brand new music request show. But stop right there if you think the continent has had its full of request shows: iRequest is not your ordinary music request show.

Kicking off, appropriately, on Africa Day on Tuesday 25 May at 18:00, the show is all about giving ordinary young Africans their 15 minutes of fame. How? By providing a scintillating new platform for them to both press play on their favourite songs (literally! Watch the show to see how!) and be seen giving their shout outs.

To make sure iRequest gets out to young Africans, a roving camera crew is headed out to different locations around the continent – from clubs to restaurants to sports days to music festivals and much, much more. This means that those Channel O viewers who want to be seen and heard on television screens throughout Africa need to be ready to select their favourite music video and match it with a shout out or two!

To add even more voom to the show, the music videos selected by music fans continent-wide will be sprinkled with interesting tidbits you didn’t know about the various artists to keep things interesting throughout the show.

iRequest launches Tuesday 25 May at 18:00 on a day Africa celebrates the formation of the Organisation of African Unity (OAU) in 1963 – a body that was the precursor to the African Union.

It’s a fitting day to launch a show that spotlights young Africans throughout the continent - celebrating life and love through music. iRequest runs for 26 weeks and is bound to rapidly become one of Channel O’s most popular shows.
