Three popular Durban-based deejays have been robbed, by a fellow DJ.
DJs Bongz, Tira and Sox, best known as Durban’s Finest, were left in limbo after their luggage, cell phones and music equipment where allegedly stolen by a up-and-coming Mpumalanga DJ.
Dj Bongz and Durban’s finest duo believe a fellow DJ, who cannot be named for legal reasons, stole their stuff.
The accused DJ says he is hurt but one day the truth will come out.
“It is sad to be accused by people I was taking care of and look up to. I did ask them for one CD, but that does not mean I stole their stuff. I left DJ Bongz in the car sleeping because he was drunk. We can even go to court, I’m willing to stand by my statement,” he says.
Music promoter Tebogo Michael confirmed that all three DJs were drunk.
“Maybe if they were sober their stuff wouldn’t have been stolen. I’m not defending the thief but just saying that these guys were drunk. I even have them on tape and have pictures. There is a person who says he saw DJ X carrying a bag coming out of Bongz’s car and he’s willing to be a witness in court,” said Tebogo.
