Rhythmic Elements 2 by 2 song is National Anthem
By Quibell Ramantswana , 02 Dec 2008The Mzansi Show caught up with the Northwest born, Master T, and McKenzie, the Metro FM ‘Song of the Year Award’ winners, before they went to the award ceremony in Pretoria.
“Rhythmic Elements is not a group and it’s not a band…”
- McKenzie(Rhythmic Elements)
The guys were incredibly excited and nervous about being nominated for four awards, including ‘Song of the Year’, best dance album, best produced album, and best newcomers.
Being nominated for four awards exceeded their expectation.
Winning two awards, Song of the Year, and Best Dance album, was better than their wildest dreams.
“Rhythmic Elements is not a group and it’s not a band. It’s a project.” said McKenzie.
The project was discussed at the end of 2005 when McKenzie visited Master T’s studio to record a demo. Master T proposed the idea of a project to McKenzie and they started working on an album in February 2006. The project album was released in the first week of July 2008. McKenzie and Master T proved that you don’t need a popular producer to be successful in the music industry. Master T and McKenzie were a harmonious duo, managing every aspect of the project themselves, from writing lyrics, to producing the melodies, to the final production of the songs.
“We live, speak, breath, and eat music” they said.
Their lives are totally focused on music, to the exclusion of every other aspect of life.
One might think that the hit song ‘2 by 2′ has got something to do with Maths! But no!
“It is all to do with partying. Either you are 1 by 1 or 2 by 2, and 3 is a crowd!” said Master T.
The Rhythmic Elements are looking forward to playing in the UK and we’re looking forward to it too.
